While on a day trip aboard the Staten Island Ferry with his nephew visiting from Florida, Reginella was inundated with questions. His nephew’s question, “Has the ferry ever sunk?” caused him to come up with the entirely fake but awesome story of a giant octopus taking over the ferry and pulling it down to its underwater lair, leaving no survivors.
